One exciting thing you can go and see in the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is the hatching of baby chickens in the Genetics and the Baby Chick Hatchery exhibit.
Head on over to the incubator where you will find plenty of eggs inside. Some will still be shelled, others will already be hatched; but if in the right moment, you might just witness how a chicken breaks out of its comfy little egg and out into the real world.
You can also discover how the tiniest genetic variations define traits that make us distinct from animals and each other. Reconnect with the nature of life as you consider the complexities of trying to engineer it.
